Last Weekend a good portion of the team went to CORI which is an offseason competition near Columbus. The team did well, getting to the quarter-finals in elimination rounds. The big accomplishment of the weekend was the CORI Mentor of the Year Award, given to our lead mentor Ric Zimmermann! He is such an amazing mentor and the whole team was excited that he won!
Last weekend the team went and helped the Relay for Life Committee at the Austintown Relay for Life! We did anything they wanted throughout the 2 days we were there. This is our second year helping out at the relay and it will definitely not be the last time we go and help. It is one of our biggest community accomplishments and it makes us the most proud to be apart of. We cannot wait until we get to go help out next year!
Today we went out to Warren, Ohio to visit the Packard Museum for the FIRST Round-Up. We took not only our high school robotics team, but also some students from the middle schools FLL teams. For four hours we drove the robot, shot frisbees, hung out with other teams, met new people from other teams, and helped out the FLL students. This was our third year going to this event and we cannot wait to go to this event next year! It was so much fun!
